What’s the time commitment like?
Our department operates 24/7, 365 days a year, which means our members rotate shifts — including weekends, holidays, and summer breaks.
But ask anyone: some of the best memories are made during those off-season moments.
You’ll balance your class schedule with your service. You’ll gain time management, communication, and leadership skills that most students don’t touch until their first job. And you won’t do it alone. This is a family. Expect crew dinners, shared traditions, and teammates who truly have your back.
Can I join with no experience?
Absolutely, many of our strongest members came in that way, though many others also come from firefighter and EMS backgrounds. We provide all training, certifications, and mentorship you’ll need. You’ll learn how to think on your feet, lead under pressure, and serve others with heart and skill. All we ask is that you show up willing to learn.
